Our Bugnutter feeder is designed for use with our high-protein insect meal by a multitude of small to medium-sized insectivores (insect eating birds). It was initially designed to give backyard birders an opportunity to feed flycatchers, normally difficult birds to attract by feeding. In our desert backyard feeding stations Cactus and Bewick's Wrens, Verdin and Curved-billed Thrashers are often seen foraging at this feeder. We've had reports of many other species finding this feeder to their liking, including bluebirds, orioles, grosbeaks, catbirds, a variety of wrens, Northern Cardinals and Pyrrhuloxia, Phainopepla, Mockingbirds, Brown Thrashers, Varied Thrushes, redpolls, towhees, Clark's Nutcrackers, Brown-crested Flycatchers, and several other species. The feeder features an incense cedar center with two bowed, corrosion-proof, vinyl covered metal mesh surfaces that the meal adheres to. Each grid is bowed slightly outward, allowing more than a day or two's worth of meal to be packed into it. Simply spread our high-energy, high-fat insect meal, Nuts 'n' Bugs Insect Meal, into the grid.
